Tsar Nicoulai Caviar Announces its 2007 Caviar Harvest
Tsar Nicoulai Caviar, pioneers of sustainable caviar, announced today that it will begin harvesting its California Estate Osetra caviar from the fall catch of its farmed White Sturgeon.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 30, 2007 -- Tsar Nicoulai Caviar, pioneers of sustainable caviar, announced today that it will begin harvesting its California Estate Osetra caviar from the fall catch of its farmed White Sturgeon. This marks Tsar Nicoulai's 20th season of producing caviar. By producing caviar through out the year, Tsar Nicoulai is able to offer the consumer the highest quality caviar available on the market at any given time. This means fresh, buttery caviar will be available to consumers in time for this coming holiday season.
"Unlike the imported caviars that are produced only in the spring and sold through out the year, our caviar is always fresh, only weeks out of production, and is of the highest standards and product integrity. Also unlike the imports, our caviar has never been made with borax, only pure salt is used as a preservative," said Mats Engstrom, co-founder and CEO of Tsar Nicoulai Caviar.
Tsar Nicoulai Caviar is found in the top restaurants across the nation. "I have been using Tsar Nicoulai's California Estate Osetra at Le Cirque for this past year and before that at L'Orangerie in Los Angeles. It is a favorite in our caviar service, and the feedback from my cooks and our guests has been great! The quality of Tsar Nicoulai's caviar is impeccable, fresh, and wonderfully creamy- I would recommend it to anyone," said Christophe Bellanca, executive chef at Le Cirque Restaurant, NY, NY
Tsar Nicoulai's harvest this year is particularly significant as CITES' quotas will again restrict the wild sturgeon catch from the Caspian and Black Seas to help in the international efforts to preserve the species. This combined with the rising price of the Euro, will likely raise the costs of imported caviar for American consumers. Due to this increase in market price, combined with environmental concerns, Mr. Engstrom concludes that "with sustainably farmed caviar being the only real viable choice, we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this trend. Tsar Nicoulai is very proud to offer caviar that rivals the traditional imported caviars on an environmental, affordable and quality level." Despite the increasing demand for caviar, Tsar Nicoulai Caviar is able to offer its newest harvest of sustainable California Estate Osetra caviar at a stable price, protected by the international market changes, import duties, and the rising price of the euro.
California Estate Osetra will retail at $79 an ounce, significantly below the $300 an ounce price tag for the Caspian Sea counterpart, and is sold in 1oz, 2oz, 5oz, 7oz, 500g, 1kg, and Original Tins. For the month of December Tsar Nicoulai is offering 10% off online orders at www.tsarnicoulai.com
