The mission of the Fisheries Department of FAO is to facilitate and secure the long-term sustainable development and utilization of the world's fisheries and aquaculture.

High Seas Task Force
In an era of overfished fish stocks and substantial excess fishing capacity, illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, especially on the high seas, is recognized as a major threat to the long term sustainability of the world's fish stocks. The Task Force is a group of fisheries ministers and international NGOs working together to develop an action plan designed to combat illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing on the high seas.

WWF International

To combat the global crisis in marine and coastal areas, the Endangered Seas Programme is focusing on human activities threatening the oceans.
WWF helps to create new market incentives and penalties, influence legislation and leadership, and apply pressure when appropriate. They also encourage industries to adopt practices which are both profitable for the industry and beneficial to the marine environment

Grupo Tortuguero is a network of individuals, communities, organizations, and institutions from around the world dedicated to ocean conservation in the northeastern Pacific using to sea turtle conservation to promote sustainability.

Conservation International (CI) is an innovative leader in global biodiversity conservation in both terrestrial and marine environments.
